Planning an Athens break next year? Good news for those in western Cyprus or who prefer to fly from Paphos: Aegean will keep its Paphos–Athens connection in 2027.

The Paphos Regional Tourism Board announced the decision on 13 October. Two or three flights a week are expected, depending on the time of year.

For people living around Paphos, it means keeping a convenient departure point for trips to Greece. For visitors, it offers another way to reach this side of Cyprus.

A trip to Athens – or a connection beyond

Athens can be the whole holiday: a few days of neighborhood walks, museums and long lunches. It can also be the next stop on a longer journey.

Through Aegean’s Athens network, passengers can connect to other destinations. The tourism board highlighted Germany, France and the UK among the markets served through the Greek capital.

Those journeys involve a change of flights in Athens. Available connections and waiting times will depend on your travel dates, so it’s worth reviewing the full itinerary before booking.

What we know so far

The announcement confirms that Paphos remains in Aegean’s plans for 2027. Philenews specifically refers to the summer 2027 season, while Cyprus Mail describes the continuation more broadly.

The reports give an expected frequency of two to three flights a week, but no complete timetable, operating days or fares. Anyone planning a trip will still need to check their dates directly with the airline.

The tourism board welcomed the news and said it was ready to work with Aegean on joint promotions, hoping to help the airline build a lasting presence at Paphos Airport.

For now, it’s useful news to keep in mind when planning next year’s travels: Athens should remain within reach from Paphos, with connections available for those heading further afield.
